Florida’s newest State Forest: Four Creeks

The news from Nassau County is that Four Creeks State Forest is now open to public use. Located north of Cary State Forest and south of Simmons State Forest, 4 miles east of Callahan and 5 miles west of I-95, Florida’s newest state forest encompasses 13,000 acres. Trails and camping areas are under construction; the forest is new enough that no recreational details are provided yet on the Florida Division of Forestry website.  More details in this article in the Jacksonville Times-Union
