Walk in the woods at Leon Sinks
South of Tallahassee in the Apalachicola National Forest is one of Florida’s most beautiful and intriguing trail systems showcasing the weird and wonderful world of karst topography. Have no idea what that is? Well, Florida’s water supply rests on it, so this is one hike worth taking to understand why. It’s a great hike for wildflowers, too, starting within the month. I’m hoping plenty of folks got out to join the cleanup crew today to get the trail in shape for visitors.
I wrote it up as this week’s Hike-A-Week and you’ll find details about the Florida under Leon Sinks on Florida Hikes. But rather than tell you than show you, here’s why you should visit Leon Sinks.
