Florida Trail flooded along the Suwannee

Hikers beware! The Suwannee, Econfina, and Aucilla Rivers are rising fast and the Florida Trail is largely under the swift currents of these rivers in many places between Osceola National Forest / Lake City and St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge south of Tallahassee. As I’ve learned in the past, floodwaters along the trail are nothing to trifle with!

For specific information on how to keep up with the latest water depth readings and to find out when it’s safe to hike again, check out the Florida Trail Association website.
