We cheated. Our original plan was to back pack in
to Oceola 6 miles and camp overnight but on the way
there decided after combing the map that we would
drive in. Now if we new we'd be car camping we
may have brought a bigger tent with real food.
It was all great though. We camped at the West
Tower and walked the Florida Trail to road 234.
And then looped back on FR 233. Much of the FT
was under water (probably from Faye). We passed
over 3 of the bridges, but it didn't matter because
it was much flooded. I took my shoes off. Maybe
that wasn't smart but I was willing to risk it.

Morning in the forest of beautiful. The pictures
I took do not do it justice.

PS the misquitoes were bad ... obviously ;)

My pictures are too big to post. Here are a couple
links where you can view my photos. I hope it works.

Thanks Pauline!

Followed the link to OneTrueMedia. Yep, the flooded trails are very familiar. I usually keep my boots on and roll up my pants. I pack extra socks, and my light weight Columbia boots (not waterproof) seem to dry fairly quickly.
I'm tent shopping, That looks like a Eureka.

I believe the brand of our tent is Cresent. It
is the $100 Gander Mountain special. It is compact
and light weight but there are lighter and more
expensive tents out there. The Army/Navy store in
Jacksonville also had a simular tent for the same
price. They also have a woman's backpack that I
like. I've added it to my wish list.
