On February 7, 2009, enjoy a hike along a spectacular portion of the Florida Trail along the Suwannee River between Big Shoals and Little Shoals.
It’s taken years to complete the land acquisition along the south shore of the Suwannee River to move the Florida Trail off the backroads west of Osceola National Forest and onto the gorgeous bluffs along the river. This is an area with an amazing number of scenic geologic wonders, including the falls at Robinson Branch, Bell Springs, and both the Big and Little Shoals of the Suwannee River.
This hike is a special fundraiser to celebrate that effort. You’ll park at Little Shoals and catch a shuttle to the start of the hike off US 441. Shuttles run from 8 AM until noon. Cost: $15.
