Every winter, hundreds of manatees converge at Blue Spring Run near Deland, as do the folks who want to see them up close in the wild. Here’s a clip from a visit I made last weekend while working on the new edition of “50 Hikes.” I loved the commentary from the two ladies next to me!

The wife and I went camping in my VW in 2007 shortly after a tropical storm came through. We couldn’t go swimming because of the fallen trees and no manatees. But it was during the late summer, so…
Great commentary!!
I love Blue Springs it is such a beautiful place it is especially great to visit while the manatees are around.
