On a quick stop at Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park in March, I discovered a new trail signposted and marked: the Perdido BayTrail, labeled a 7.5-mile loop. Wow! Wish I’d had the time to explore, but I was en route to Big Lagoon to hike that trail system with my brother-in-law Jeff. More on that adventure later. The woods at Tarkiln were smoking, too, so likely not the best time (post-prescribed burn) to be poking around in the forest. But by now the pitcher plants are in bloom, so if you get out there, let me know what it looks like!
