Matt Keane’s blazed a brand new trail around Florida – a wet one. Around about January 5, he’ll be the first “thru-paddler” to complete the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail, 1,600 miles of sea kayaking along our shores. A big celebration is planned at Big Lagoon State Park west of Pensacola. The trail was formally designated last year after much scouting work by Doug Alderson and plenty of cooperation between counties throughout the state. Way to go, Matt!

Way to go Matt!!! And thanks for leading the way. I leave in one week on April 27th and will be the first female to complete the Florida Circumnavigation Saltwater Paddling Trail. I’ll also be going in the wrong direction, as you did. Wish me luck!!!
