Registration now open for Florida Hiking Festival

A celebration of volunteerism is planned at the annual Florida Hiking Festival / FTA Annual Conference March 27-29 in White Springs. A reprise of last year’s locale, White Springs offers more than a weekend’s worth of excellent hiking opportunities both inside and outside the host location, Stephen Foster Folk Culture State Park.

Highlights include a screening of Wes Skiles film Water’s Journey, the Cross Creek Cloggers, workshops including using your GPS and organizing your own large-scale annual hike, and of course guided hikes along the Suwannee River, one of which I’ll be leading.  Individual registration is $25 for members, $50 for non-members; $15 for teens (13-17); children 12 and under are free. Dinners are included Fri and Sat eves in registration fee. Camping fees are extra. Guided hikes offered Sat & Sun for an additional fee. ($10 member, $20 non-member).
