A division of the Department of Environmental Protection, the Office of Greenways and Trails oversees development of dedicated greenway corridors throughout the state. While many of these focus on paved biking trails, others (like the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway) are broad strips of preserved land that include natural-surface hiking trails as well.
